Decided to give a local restaurant a try... and did not regret it!
After craving American style food since holiday, I decided to pop in and try my local American restaurant, Hickory's. My local is in Chester however there is another in West Kirby if anyone's interested in giving it a try!
I was really impressed, it's not your typical American restaurant like TGI's but the interiors classy and sophisticated, you wouldn't feel embarrassed taking a date there! The drinks list is impressive with an array of cocktails, alcoholic and non-alcoholic! They have a page full of imported American beers that my boyfriend was really impressed with, I settled with cloudy lemonade which was lovely and I loved the presentation of it coming in a jar.
For our main we chose a meat platter which was a selection of all their best meat dishes. I recommend Hickory's to everyone who loves smoked and barbecued meat... there are not a lot of options for anyone who isn't into them kind of flavours, sorry!
I was pretty full by dessert but the marshmallow roasting plate had caught my eye and I couldn't resist the whole fad of being able to roast marshmallows at your table.
Hickory's is situated on Chester river front for anyone looking to go there, if your more than a table of two I suggest booking in advance as its usually always fully booked with larger tables. It’s definitely worth a visit!
Afterwards we took a lovely walk along the river and Chester walls, just thought I'd include some photos we took. I've grown up visiting Chester and even now a day out there doesn't bore me, there’s always something to do.
